Pr Iraqi will present the genetic determinants in the development of Fatty liver Diseases, during the Targeting Liver Diseases World Congress 2015
Mapping Host Genetic determinants underlying the development of Fatty Liver Diseases, will be the focus of Pr. Iraqi talk.
"Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common liver disease in the Western world and its incidence is increasing rapidly. NAFLD is becoming an important health issue, and in Western nations and reported to be the most common cause of chronic liver disease.
The Collaborative Cross (CC) is a novel and powerful mouse reference population designated for studying system genetics and dissection complex traits. Searching the mouse gene database, number of candidate genes underlying the QTL suggested. Our results have shown that host susceptibility to liver fat accumulationis a complex trait, controlled by multiple genetic factors."
The talk will detail the use of the CC population mice novel reference to study genetic determinants in Liver Diseases.
